About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Specialist with a primary focus on cash application to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in accurately processing and applying customer payments, maintaining positive customer relationships, and ensuring timely and accurate cash flow management. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to resolving discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately apply customer payments (checks, ACH, credit cards, etc.) to open invoices in the accounting system.
- Reconcile payment discrepancies and ensure all payments are applied correctly.
- Investigate and resolve payment issues, including unapplied cash, short payments, and overpayments.
- Ensure that all payments are applied within established deadlines and customer accounts are up to date.
- Assist in streamlining cash application processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist in preparing detailed dispute packages for deductions, chargebacks, and short payments.
- Provide general support for Accounts Receivable team including billing, reporting & reconciliations, process improvement, and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in cash applications
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- Experience in CPG and manufacturing companies a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work efficiently under tight timelines and achieve results, while maintaining high quality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- SAP experience a plus.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
