    In short, the main differences lie in the ink and the tip, and the way that impacts the writing experience.

    Liquid ink and the tiny rollerball in the tip helps rollerball pens glide effortlessly over paper for free-flowing, fluid writing.

    Fountain pens use a similar ink to rollerball pens, but deliver the ink quite differently through a specialized tip called a "nib", lending the user's handwriting its own highly individual quality and style.
